Registration and abstract submission
2nd European Symposium on Phytochemicals in Medicine and Food, 03 – 06 June, 2024, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (2-EuSPMF) will include 4 different themes/sections:
I: natural resources of bioactive compounds (nature bioactive compound sources, traditional phytomedicine; useful plants, Standardization of herbal preparations)
II: bioactive compounds and human health (herbal medicines in disease prevention and treatment; novel perspectives of phytochemical use in contemporary medicine)
III: from farm to fork (natural resources in food industry; spices and food; The role of nutrients and their bioavailability; New food products/ingredients and technologies; Flavor chemistry; nutrigenomics; food sustainability, food safety)
IV: analytical methods and biotechnology in phytomedicine (phytochemical profiles, identification of compounds, compound isolation, drug delivery systems)
Standard registration
The registration fee covers admission to the conference, printed materials, coffee breaks, snacks, dinner and lunch during the sessions, Welcome Gala dinner (03. June) and gala dinner (04. June), networking event and walking city tour on 05. June.

Call for Abstracts
Oral and poster presentations on the mentioned topics are welcome. All participants are invited to submit abstracts which will be published in a conference proceeding. All abstracts will be reviewed by the scientific committees and the decision on the way of contribution will be announced no later than 2 weeks after the abstract submission deadline. Registration is mandatory for acceptance.
Conference topics:
I: natural resources of bioactive compounds (plant sources, traditional phytomedicine; eco-services; standardization of herbal preparations)
II: bioactive compounds and human health (herbal medicines in disease prevention and treatment; novel perspectives of phytochemical use in contemporary medicine)
III: from farm to fork (natural resources in the food industry; spices and food; the role of nutrients and their bioavailability; new food products/ingredients and technologies; flavor chemistry; nutrigenomics; food sustainability)
IV: analytical methods and biotechnology in phytomedicine (phytochemical profiles, identification of compounds, compound isolation, drug delivery systems)
Type of contributions:
Invited talks – 30 minutes
Oral presentations – 15 minutes
Short talks –5 min (no discussion) – intended for young scientists (Young scientists are invited to enter their short talk for the best short talk award) and
Poster presentations (Young scientists are invited to enter their posters for the best poster award)

Abstract preparation guidelines
The abstract should be submitted in word format (use the template). The abstract must be written in English and the standard font should be Times New Roman 12 pt except for the title (16 pt), affiliations (10 pt, italic). The name of the author presenting the contribution must be underlined. A standard length of one page is maximum length of the abstract (see abstract template)
The page size is A4 and the following margins should be used: left 2.5 cm, right 2.5 cm, top page 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm. The text must be typed using single space with full justification, page number should be omitted.
